Quantity Surveyor & Facility Manager

The Quantity Surveyor & Facility Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the bank’s physical infrastructure — including construction, refurbishment, maintenance, and electrical systems — to ensure that all bank premises are safe, functional, compliant, and cost-efficient.

The role combines cost management, project supervision, and facility operations oversight, ensuring value for money in all works and services while supporting operational continuity across the branch network.

     

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and control project costs by preparing cost estimates, budgets, bills of quantities (BQs), and final accounts for construction, renovation, and refurbishment projects.
  • Manage tendering and contracting for works and services by preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and supporting contract award and administration.
  • Monitor project execution and expenditure through site visits, verification of progress, validation of variations, and approval of interim and final payments.
  • Plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for all bank facilities, including branches, offices, ATMs, and staff residences.
  • Supervise renovation, relocation, and refurbishment works to ensure compliance with approved designs, quality standards, budgets, and timelines.
  • Oversee electrical systems and energy infrastructure, including power distribution, generators, UPS, solar systems, and lighting, ensuring reliability and safety.
  • Manage vendors and service providers by contracting, supervising performance, enforcing SLAs, and recommending renewals or corrective actions.
  • Ensure health, safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance across all bank premises, including fire safety, electrical safety, and building codes.
  • Maintain accurate facilities, asset, and technical records, including asset registers, warranties, inspection certificates, and maintenance logs.
  • Prepare budgets, reports, and advisory inputs by producing facilities and project reports, tracking costs and energy usage, and advising management on infrastructure risks and improvement opportunities.

 

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES: NOT MORE THAN 5 OF THE MOST TYPICAL

  • Manage tendering and contracting for works and services by preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and supporting contract award and administration.
  • Review and coordinate maintenance requests and emergencies, ensuring timely response and resolution across all facilities.
  • Supervise ongoing site works and service providers, verifying quality, safety compliance, and adherence to approved specifications.
  • Update facilities, asset, and contract tracking systems, including maintenance logs, asset registers, and vendor performance records.
  • Engage internal stakeholders and service providers to resolve operational issues and provide status updates on projects and facilities performance.

THE PERSON:

 For the above position, the successful applicant should have:

  • University Degree from a recognized institution in one of below fields:
  • Quantity Surveying,
  • Electrical/Mechanical Engineering,
  • Construction Management, or
  • Facility Management
  • Professional qualification in RICS, IQSK, IFMA, BIFM, or equivalent as added advantage.
  • Minimum of five (4) years’ experience in construction and facility operations; managing electrical systems, maintenance contracts, and capital projects; Stakeholder engagement and Budget management
  • Proficiency in MS Project, AutoCAD, and cost estimation tools
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • A dynamic, proactive, decisive person, who can be a change agent.
