MSME Relationship Manager

The role holder reports to the Sr Manager, SME Banking with a core responsibility of developing, processing, and maintaining MSME Scheme lending relationships by developing new relationships with corporate value chains and high net-worth business customers and maintain already existing relationships with MSME business customers, by ensuring they utilize as many KCB products as appropriate for their businesses.

The holder is responsible for analyzing trends in MSME Assets and liabilities portfolios with the aim of coming up with innovative ways of driving performance of MSME business specifically targeting the high-net-worth MSME customers and coming up with strategies to monitor their loans’ portfolio.

The holder has a core accountability of creating ways of developing business services and works hand in hand with the Senior SME and Mortgage Manager and Head of Retail in crafting innovative ways of handling specific relationships as per the business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with ALL MSME customers (small, medium & the HNW SMEs) with a view to determining their business needs and providing service levels to their satisfaction.
  • Grow and Manage MSME business across the bank to achieve business targets (Loans, Deposits, Revenues and Accounts numbers)
  • Recruit new loans to increase MSME loan portfolio.
  • Contribute to minimizing the financials losses by setting in place an efficient turnaround time especially for MSME loans,
  • Driving performance by working with Branch Managers and Business Banking Managers to design and implement innovative MSME business plans to their branches - Support the team to grow the SME client loan portfolio, grow revenue and grow number of MSME customers.
  • Manage and execute sales Plans of MSME Products across the business.
  • Process MSME credit applications within stipulated TAT.
  • Manage MSME book to ensure quality performance, timely review, and control of Loan migration to bad grades.
  • Prepare periodic reports on overdrawn accounts, dormant accounts, and loan performance.
  • Check the authentication of credit applications in the system to ensure KYC and AML.

Job Requirements

For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

  • University degree in related field.
  • Professional Qualifications (CPA, ACIB, AKIB, ACCA (K) as added advantage.
  • Master’s Degree in related field ad added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 Years’ Experience Required in MSME loan processes or Customer service or Relationship Management
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in high-pressure situations.
