SAHL OPERATIONS MANAGER

1. JOB PURPOSE

The role holder will be responsible for ensuring the operations of Sahl Banking unit fully comply to Sahl banking Policy and manuals, bank’s procedures/policies, ascertain uniformity in Sahl Banking operations and delivery of services whilst identifying all processes that expose the unit and the bank to risk. The job role is responsible as well to prepare and maintain periodic reports on Sahl Banking Unit’s performance.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow up and ensure Sahl Unit operations and branches comply to Sahl Banking policy and manuals, bank’s procedures/policies. 
  • Provide support needed to the unit and branches to ensure Sahl Banking products and services are offered efficiently in compliance to bank’s policy and procedures, 
  • Ensure risks are proactively managed through embedded process of identifying, assessing, mitigating, controlling, monitoring, and reporting all events that have risk exposure potential. 
  • Report all risks to facilitate prudent management decisions in liaise with Sahl compliance Manager. 
  • Monitor and ensure Sahl Banking products and services are offered with a high-level customer satisfaction through operational effectiveness, efficiency and customer complaint resolutions.
  • Monitor with branches and Sahl Unit staff to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering policies and procedures as guided by the operations Manual and the AML/KYC manuals while offering Sahl banking products.
  • Review and analyse reconciliations of all Islamic Banking GSL accounts especially unreconciled and long outstanding items in Sahl Suspense accounts with reports from Finance with a view to reversing them.  
  • Prepare and maintain periodic reports on Sahl banking performance, 
  • Prepare and maintain periodic reports on overdrawn accounts, dormant accounts, Sahl non-compliance accounts and ensure follow on compliance of all Sahl non-compliance accounts reported.    
  • Follow up and coordinate implementation of Sahl banking marketing plan and activities in liaise with Marketing and Procurement.

3. JOB REQUIREMENTS

 For the above position, the successful applicant should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related from a recognized university is required.
  • Two (2) years minimum relevant experience is required:  
    • Two (2) years in banking operations required 
    • Experience in audit, Compliance or Credit is an added advantage 
  • Professional qualification is an added advantage - Islamic Banking certifications 
  • Master's degree in business administration will be an added advantage
